Scott County Board of Supervisors:
1. Whereas, I may have reason to believe that Mr. Brickey, representative of District 4, may
have sent out an email on or around the morning of May 17, 2024, this morning, to other
members of the Scott County Board of Supervisors.
2. Pursuant to Va. Code Ann. § 2.2-3700, Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I am hereby
requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records, specifically all sent
emails, if any, from Michael Brickeys email address on May 17, 2024, between the times of
5:00 am and 10:00 am, to include the above-referenced email communication, if any.
3. If a search for the requested information does not reveal any documents or if no search
information exists, please provide a written statement indicating this is the case.
4. If any information revealed by this request is considered protected under applicable laws or
regulations, please withhold the protected information. However, please provide all
information that is not protected and is subject to public inspection.
5. If any part of this request is denied, including any withheld portion of any request thereof,
please cite the specific Code section that permits withholding the particular records.
Furthermore, I request that the remainder of the request be processed as though the entire
request is not exempt or withheld.
6. If this request does not apply to this public body but to another public body that has the
requested records, please include contact information for that public body so that I may
contact them directly.

However, I am requesting a waiver of all fees as the requested information is in the public
interest.
9. Virginia's Freedom of Information Act requires a response to this request to be made within
five business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount
of time, please contact me within five business days with information about when I
might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.
10. The records requested may be furnished in a digital electronic format, including Microsoft
Office files as well as images, PDFs, Zip archives, or any other standardized format files.
Should you find that it assists you with similar requests from other citizens, the records I
have requested herein may be uploaded to an Internet server and subsequently made
available for download on the World Wide Web by the general public. This is an acceptable
medium to expedite this request, and you may simply provide me with instructions to access
the information uploaded or provide me with a valid hyperlink to access the information.
Please choose the least expensive delivery option available to me.
11. If you deny any or all of this request, please notify me of the appeal procedures available
to me under the law.
