I called some of you but was driving at the time and had a graduation to attend so I could not contact all of you at that time. The attorney, Terry Kilgore, asked that our BOS not send a letter in opposition to the Landfill being discussed in Russell County. He explained that any leaching would be contained and any danger from the landfill would be closely monitored by State and Federal officials. We also talked about how our BOS should not get involved in the affairs of other counties affairs. For your information, Wise County has refused to send a letter of opposition of the Landfill to Russell County. Please use this information in your decision to send our letter to the Russell County BOS. Thank you. A majority can hold up sending a letter out until then. If'a majority wants it to go, it goes. I vote to hold up sending the letter until a discussion at our next board meeting. If you will let me know your vote (to send now or hold until the next meeting), please let me know and I will contact Freda.
